I came in for a synthetic oil change on a 4.5l V8 (calls for an extra quart of oil over the standard oil change) which typically costs a painful +/-$90 at a Valvoline quick change (or equivalent) shop. So at +/-$70 for the same thing right off the bat is fantastic. No deals, just their typical rate for that service. But on top of this, as the oil plug was removed, the threads came along with the bolt this time. If you know anything about this, it's fairly typical of a vehicle whose had plenty of oil changes (and where the last guy to tighten the bolt's never heard of a torque wrench). While it's also standard to have varying metals (steel and aluminium in this case) tread, if one's inherently stronger than the other (steel oil plug beats aluminum oil pan), one fails over time. Point being, these guys were able to re-tap (that's re-thread) the oil pan and replace the oil plug with an obviously larger one for a song (read "very good deal" and/or "incredible deal when compared to the cost of replacing the oil pan"). I will hands-down be coming back to Prestige Auto Works for all subsequent oil changes and likely any other work they're equipped to handle.
